It was a marvelous night, the sort of night one only experiences
when one is young. The sky was so bright, and there were so many stars
that, gazing upward, one couldn't help wondering how so many whimsical,
wicked people could live under such a sky. This too is a question that
would only occur to the young, to the very young; but may God make you
wonder like that as often as possible!

OK, I know tips are important to poor students and 'lifers' (people who work these crappy jobs their entire lifes because they never seek higher education), BUT, think of it this way also: Do you tip your Hotel Maids (some of whom have to clean each entire suite floor to ceiling, including the jizz out of your shower, in 15 minutes)? How about that poor 15-year-old behind the counter at McDondals? How about that over-worked Sandwich Artist who put THREE TIMES the veggies in your sub that he's supposed to? *wink wink* ..Well, nobody/hardly anyone does! So why do only a very select few of the low-wage jobs 'deserve' to have their wage doubled by tips? I can't figure it out, and while I appreciate how much a sucky job at Denny's night shift is, I think waiters are, truely, Spoiled with the antiquated tradition of 'tipping'. (and I WILL argue WHOLE_HEARTEDLY that subway and many other fast-food jobs are JUST as hard as waitering, if not harder) And at Subway in Lethbridge we weren't even allowed to have a tiny tip jar! (tho I did recieve a few tips direct from customers! BOOYEAH!).. For this reason I tip minimally, just as a small thank-you, more if I'm especially impressed and well-served by my server.
