Has anyone been watching the news lately? Former presidential candidate and democratic vice-presidential nominee (2004) John Edwards has admitted to having a sordid affair! Welcome, John, to a not-so-exclusive club of politicians who got caught. You will lose face, and eventually make a lot of money on book deals. Some of that money you will lose paying to defend against lawsuits of various sorts.
This affair is particularly juicy (from the perspective of our diseased culture) because his wife Elizabeth is a cancer patient. John Edwards is going to get pulled through all kinds of mud for this one. The same is true for the woman with whom he had the affair. CNN posted a classy photo juxtaposition on its front page today:

Really, CNN? Seriously? Could you have possibly picked too more hilariously unflattering photos of these people? Given the context, I think the forward-looking-visionary-esque photo of Edwards is hysterical. And, if the dictionary were ever to officialize "huh?", that lady's photo would be a perfect demonstration of how to do the proper inflection.
