Day 223
Half a day spent as a temp at a law firm, and I'm reconsidering lawyering as a career. It was the half-hour I spent typing in billable hours for the lawyers, realizing slowly that pretty much all they do is prepare or review documents, take calls, write emails, and occasionally meet clients and/or go to court. None of this should have been a surprize, but still, it is a wake-up call!
I'm thinking about journalism now. Perhaps column-writing, like Dave Barry or Jack Knox for the TC; the notion of making a career of peddling unnecessary, quirky, and periodically humourous opinions is a pleasing one. And with God as my witness, that is something I am capable of doing!
